Compliance Standards in VIVE
Vendor compliance standards define the minimum qualifications a vendor must meet to achieve and maintain VIVE Certification. These standards ensure consistency, reduce risk, and uphold the professional and legal expectations of your organization.
What Are Vendor Compliance Standards?
Vendor compliance standards are pre-defined criteria that vendors must satisfy across multiple categories to qualify for certification. These categories typically include:
-
Company Background Checks
-
Owner Background Checks
-
General Liability Insurance
-
Auto Liability Insurance
-
Umbrella Liability Insurance
-
Workers' Compensation Coverage
Each of these standards can be configured to align with your organization's risk tolerance, regulatory needs, or internal policies.
Setting Compliance Standards
-
Compliance standards must be established during the pre-launch phase of your VIVE implementation.
-
Standards are set at the organizational level, not per site.
- Compliance standards may vary based on the trades vendors perform.
-
Once established, these requirements are automatically applied to all new vendors and any vendors who are undergoing their renewal screening.
Note: Changes to compliance standards will NOT be retroactively applied to already certified vendors unless specifically requested.
Making Changes to Standards
Important Considerations Before Changing Compliance Standards:
-
Ensure all changes are reviewed and approved by your leadership team or compliance authority.
-
Understand that updates impact future vendor onboarding and renewals.
-
Evaluate if the new standards align with your corporate risk policy and insurance requirements.
Contact VIVE for Assistance:
-
All compliance standard updates must be coordinated with VIVE to ensure proper implementation.
-
If you require retroactive screening of already approved vendors under new standards, this must be explicitly communicated to VIVE.
Why Standards Matter
-
Ensure consistency in how vendors are evaluated
-
Protect your organization from legal, operational, and financial risk
-
Provide transparency and fairness in vendor selection
-
Align vendor practices with internal risk mitigation protocols
